ABOUT THE STORY
What inspired your story?
I like toying with the concept, if we could decide when we have to die.
Can you tell us a little bit about your protagonist?
Terry is an Undecided, which is a black mark on the society that she lives in, and now everyone is aware of her, which threatens the system that holds everything together.
What is the most interesting thing about the world you’ve created?
People can live their lives, knowing that there is no ticking clock, no moment, where Death will come from them except at the number on their dotted line.
What genre or mix of genres does your story fit into?
Supernatural mostly, but also Drama.
How have your personal experiences influenced this story?
I have had my brush with Death, maybe more than once, and I’ve also wasted a lot of my life. If I knew how much time I had, then maybe I would do something with it, or at least create something to leave behind.
What would you like readers to take away from your story?
We might not have a definite number, but we can’t look at tomorrow as the end either.
What was your favorite part of the story to write and why?
I love the connection between Terry and James, but life does not wait for love. Sometimes, you just run out of time.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
When did you write your first story, how old were you, and what was it about?
In my senior year of high school, I lived in my notebooks, writing short story after short story. It was my defense for a lot of things going on in my life. I still have those pages, and I have re-created two short stories from that time. Lizardian and Porcelain. My own monsters.
What is your writing survival checklist? (Aka, what helps your write the best: music, snacks, coffee, complete silence, a stress ball, a cat, or an outline, etc.)
Music is a must when I write, and I listen to a vast assortment of music ranging from Pop to Rap to Rock to Jazz to Soundtracks to Moby. Moby is especially a favorite. A second must are my cats, but they get bored after awhile.
What has influenced you most as a writer?
In high school, I lived on the stories of Stephen King. He is my inspiration, but so are comic books and Horror movies. The Spider-Man Comic Book inspired me to write Lizardian, and the Horror movie, Dolls inspired me to create Porcelain.
What font do you prefer to write in?
Times New Roman 12 Point Font
Do you have any writing blogs/vlogs/podcasts, etc. that you would recommend?
I would recommend Medium for a writing blog, and I would recommend Tall Tale TV as a podcast.
What is your favorite and least favorite word, and why?
I don’t know if I have a favorite word, but my least favorite is And. I use it way too much, and that’s a bad habit that I need to break.
