Intern Diaries: On Fire Writing Rant

Hey, Feisty Ones!

As most know, our cover reveal for our On Fire anthology has recently been released, and if you haven’t seen it go check it out (here).

I would like to take some time and talk about fire. Fire is unforgiving, unweathering, and can bring chaos. I believe that each one of us has a fire within. An eternal flame that cannot be vanquished. This fire can be described as the motivation we have or the light that shines through us.

Sometimes in life, there are events and even people that try to squash that flame.

I have been a victim to this for most of my life. Underestimated, humiliated, and pushed aside based on the fact that I’m a bit different than others. Fire teaches us to embrace the different changes in our life.

I keep making my writing more difficult because of one of my classes and my inability to grasp what she wants from me. This has seeped into the rest of my writing—on top of being sick.

I started writing in a dairy a few months back, but lately, the will to write is verging on non-existence. My love for writing has turned into a “do I have to?” response due to the frustration of a simple class.

I cannot, however, blame everything on this one class, for many things have happened to me this semester. I feel tired all the time, and I just have no will to write.

I hope writing this out and continuing to push myself to write will somehow coax my writing to start again, but until then, don’t forget to stay feisty.
